Y-cam
makes home and small business
video monitoring over the internet
easier and more affordable than
ever before.
Y-cam Solutions Ltd
is a UK based manufacturer and
has just introduced two models
from its growing Internet video
camera range: Y-cam White and
Y-cam Black.
The camera makes it easy
for anyone wanting to keep an
eye on their homes, businesses
or anything else important to
them while they are away. It can
send emails of images captured
when motion is detected to any
3 email addresses or to data storage
units anywhere on the web. You
can even record video in complete
darkness and listen in to what's
going on through the camera's
in-built microphone. With only
an internet connection, a web
browser and a Y-cam, you can now
view live video form anywhere,
at anytime.
Imagine the usages;
the Y-cam is best suited to the
small to medium enterprise and
the home-user market. Some people
use the Y-cam in their homes to
monitor their children and pets
while they are working, while
others are using it to record
and monitor their shops, offices
and Holiday premises. Most, however,
use it simply to make sure everything
is ok.
True remote video management
is possible with the Y-cam. With
the Multi-Live software, the user
can monitor up to 16 cameras from
one screen in London and have
cameras in Liverpool, Scotland,
US, Europe, India, or anywhere
else in the world.

WV
- NP240 Series
|

Panasonic
introduces the new WV-NP240 Series
network camera that is both MPEG-4
and JPEG dual stream compatible.
MPEG-4 makes viewing video smooth
and seamless, and is multicast/unicast
switchable to fit your application.
When using JPEG, 640 x 480 (VGA)
images can be transmitted at up
to 30 fps. Plus, with progressive
scan in both MPEG-4 and JPEG modes,
images of moving subjects are
captured in high fidelity. With
the optional F1.2 lens, these
cameras operate in lighting as
low as 1.1 lux. In addition electronic
sensitivity can be increased up
to 16 times, while a 3x digital
zoom allows you to view subjects’
up-close. A built-in high sensitivity
microphone with on/off functionality
provides clear audio capabilities.
The WV-NP240 Series is equipped
with PoE (Power over Ethernet)
IEEE802.3af, allowing power and
signals to be transmitted over
the same cable, thus eliminating
the need to install a separate
power source for each camera.
This feature makes installation
as simple as plugging the cable
into the HUB. Using the multi
screen display mode, up to 8 cameras
can be monitored from a single
browser. The digital motion detector
feature transmits an alarm signal
when moving subjects enter the
scene. When combined with the
optional Network Disk Recorder;
WJ-ND300, these cameras make it
incredibly easy to construct an
automatic video surveillance system.
Plus, the SD memory card slot
allows you to back up images on
an SD memory card in case of network
failure.
So handy and so reliable, the
WV-NP240 Series is ideal for an
endless variety of networked surveillance
applications.

WV
- NP472 |
|
New
from Panasonic, the WV-NP472 directly
connects to either digital or
analogue devices. Simply set an
IP address and connect it to an
Ethernet terminal for monitoring
and control from a personal computer.
Or use the analogue video out
to connect to conventional monitoring
systems using coaxial cable.
The WV-NP472 camera utilizes Panasonic's
Super Dynamic II function to capture
natural images at entryways, near
windows, and in other locations
with harsh contrasts between light
and dark. It automatically stores
images in repose to inputs from
motion detectors and external
sensor alarms and can send images
automatically as e-mail attachments.
In addition, this colour camera
can also control external devices,
turning on lighting or starting
a surveillance recorder working.
It operates with only 0.8 lux
of available light in colour mode
and a mere 0.1 lux in black and
white. Its Day/Night switching
function automatically switches
to black-and-white recording when
available light is low. Thus,
this single security camera can
deliver 24-hour surveillance.
The WV-NP472 is designed for monitoring
over a WAN or over the Internet
a snap. Its sophisticated surveillance
functions make this the network
security camera of choice for
a wide range of settings, including
banks, office buildings, and franchise
outlets.
